The Story

Sofie, an attractive woman in her early Sixties travels to Zanzibar and falls in love with Seif, a young Tanzanian musician. She feels magically attracted to him – despite all their obvious differences. A passionate love story unfolds between them, in which Sofie experiences the challenges of a bicultural relationship.

The Author

Catharina Aanderud studied Psychology and Philosophy and worked several years as a Psychologist before turning to journalism. She wrote for many big German newspapers and magazines and published several nonfiction books. Zanzibar for Beginners is her second novel.
